Mission

The UC Merced School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts (SSHA) Graduate Services team is dedicated to supporting graduate students in achieving their academic and professional goals. We provide student-centered services, coordinate key activities, and promote opportunities that advance graduate student success.

Our team is committed to guiding students as they navigate their graduate careers within SSHA -- offering clear information, personalized advising, and resources on university policies, procedures, and services. We strive to foster an inclusive, supportive, and empowering environment where every graduate student can reach their highest intellectual potential, from recruitment through graduation.

Our Goals

Facilitate Funding Support: Oversee and facilitate graduate student funding, including teaching assistantships, graduate student researcher appointments, fellowships and other financial opportunities.

Empower Graduate Students: Help graduate students understand and navigate campus resources, policies and procedures to effectively address both general and individual challenges.

Foster Academic Success: Provide guidance and support to ensure steady progress towards degree completion.
