Teaching Commons’s English Language Institute (ELI) serves to uphold the state of California's requirement that all teaching assistants for each campus of the University of California prove competence in oral communication. Comprehensive information and resources can be found ELI Resources.
If applicable, international students during the Graduate Research and Orientation Week (GROW), an ELI Microteaching Language Evaluation will be conducted. If required, you will be contacted regarding an appointment time that will be scheduled during GROW.
